Privacy Policy

Arcticalm ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Arcticalm mobile application ("App") collects, how we use it, and your rights. Please read it carefully before using the App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

Arcticalm stores your wellness session data exclusively on your device using a local database (SQLite). This includes:

  • Activity type (e.g., box breathing, cold plunge, timed meditation)
  • Session start time, end time, and duration
  • Whether the session was completed
  • Optional session metadata (e.g., rounds completed)

This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to Arcticalm's servers or any third party unless explicitly stated below.

1.2 Microphone (Affirmation Meditation Feature)

The Affirmation Meditation feature allows you to record your own voice affirmations. Recordings are stored locally on your device only. We do not upload, process, or have access to any audio you record. You can delete recordings at any time through the App.

1.3 Device Locale

The App reads your device's language/locale setting solely to display the interface in your preferred language (English, French, or Spanish). This information is not stored or transmitted.

1.4 Purchase and Subscription Data (RevenueCat)

If you purchase a premium subscription, the App uses RevenueCat — a third-party subscription management service. RevenueCat may collect:

  • A pseudonymous app user identifier
  • Device type, operating system version, and app version
  • Purchase history and subscription status
  • Country/region (derived from the App Store or Google Play account)

RevenueCat's data practices are governed by their own Privacy Policy . We do not receive or store your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play.

1.5 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

  • Your name, email address, or any other personal identifier
  • Location data
  • Health or fitness data from HealthKit, Google Fit, or similar services
  • Crash reports or usage analytics beyond what RevenueCat provides for purchases
  • Advertising identifiers

2. How We Use Your Information

The limited information described above is used exclusively to:

  • Display your session history and progress within the App
  • Play back your recorded affirmations within the App
  • Verify and manage your subscription entitlements
  • Display the App interface in your device language

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share information only with:

  • RevenueCat — solely to process and verify in-app purchases and subscriptions, as described in Section 1.4.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — to facilitate payment processing. We do not receive your payment details.

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Session data and audio recordings are stored on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the App, or when you delete them manually within the App.

RevenueCat retains purchase records in accordance with their own retention policy. Contact RevenueCat directly to exercise rights over that data.

We do not maintain server-side user accounts, so there is no Arcticalm account data to delete.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to address it.

6. Security

Because session data and recordings are stored locally on your device, their security depends on your device's security features (screen lock, encryption). We encourage you to use a strong passcode and keep your operating system up to date.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including access, correction, deletion, and portability. Because most data is stored locally on your device and under your control, you can exercise most of these rights directly within the App or by uninstalling it.

GDPR (EEA/UK residents): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Our legal basis for any processing via RevenueCat is the performance of a contract (subscription services) and our legitimate interest in operating the App.

CCPA (California residents): We do not sell personal information. California residents may request disclosure of personal information collected about them.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

The App may contain links to the Apple App Store, Google Play, or other external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by posting a notice in the App. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
